Medical Assistant – Orange County, CA
Job Summary: This is a traveling position responsible for preparing dermatology patients for examination and/or treatment and surgically assisting medical providers as directed, in our various Orange County offices.
Key Competencies: Demonstrated ability to courteously escort patients to the examination room noting subjective complaints in patient’s chart and setting flag to alert provider that patient is ready.
Demonstrated ability to administer local anesthetic, photodynamic therapy treatment, injections, removal of sutures, and surgically assist the physician with Mohs Surgery, various cutaneous surgeries and cosmetic procedures as directed by provider.
Demonstrated ability to accurately complete necessary paperwork and electronic health records input associated with the visit encounter.
Demonstrated ability to operate MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox. Must type 40 WPM.
Education: Associate’s degree or High School Diploma/GED preferred. Must possess current medical assistant certificate.
Experience: Minimum of two years in a dermatology practice as a medical assistant.
Other: This position requires frequent travel, and requires a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current insurance coverage.
