Joanna Nicholson, P.A.-C

Joanna is the ideal physician assistant. Possessing an inherent understanding of human anatomy, an extensive health science background, and the desire to help patients find a better quality of life, she is a valuable asset to West Dermatology.

Joanna began her educational studies at San Diego State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Nutritional Science with a Minor in Biology. After working as a Certified Athletic Trainer at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA, Joanna attended the University of Southern California where she received her Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. While at USC, Joanna received both the Ethel Gardner PEO Scholarship Award and USC Keck School of Medicine Scholarship Award.

Since completing her formal education, Joanna has spent over nine years working in the field of dermatology, focusing primarily on cosmetic procedures. She is highly experienced in many procedures including laser treatments, Botox®, Dysport®, dermal fillers, sclerotherapy and chemical peels. She also specializes in general dermatology, treating medical skin disorders such as skin cancer, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, acne, moles and rashes. Whether cosmetic or medical, Joanna’s main priority is to educate her patients and provide treatments that will produce the best cosmetic outcome.

When Joanna is not in the office, she is busy chasing after two energetic, toddler boys with her husband. And if she ever gets a spare moment to herself, she enjoys a good round of golf or match of tennis.
