Eric S. Gerstenfeld, M.D.

Dr. Eric S. Gerstenfeld is passionate about his patients - understanding their medical history and concerns is important to him in the process of providing health care.

Dr. Gerstenfeld graduated from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the highest honor awarded to outstanding medical students. He did his dermatology residency at N.Y.U. Medical Center.

He also practiced as a general care physician and Lieutenant Commander in the Navy, where his final assignment was at the San Diego Naval Hospital. For his service he received the Navy Commendation Medal and he says he also gained an appreciation for general care medicine. “My experiences there gave me an understanding for a broad range of health issues, and how those impact patients’ lives.”

Dr. Gerstenfeld also loves spending time with his family and reading. He imagines he might have become a professor of history or philosophy had he not answered the call to medicine. His patients assure him every day that he chose wisely.
