Lucas G. Bingham, M.D.

Lucas G. Bingham, MD completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, with a minor in Zoology. He then relocated to Hershey, PA where he received his Medical Doctorate from Pennsylvania State University. He followed his formal education with a transitional year internship at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT and a dermatology residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Dr. Bingham originally decided that he wanted to be a doctor in the tenth grade after taking an anatomy and physiology class. After that, he did everything he could to prepare to become a doctor. During his time in medical school there were many things that drew him to the field of dermatology. Having a longstanding interest in third world medical care, Dr. Bingham discovered that many diseases prevalent in developing nations are directly related to the field of skin care. As he further investigated the field of dermatology he became captivated with the way that it allowed physicians to have daily patient interactions, provide multiple surgical treatments, and to use pathology skills in diagnosing and treating skin cancer and disease. He has since traveled to both Ethiopia and Italy, where he was able to provide needed health care to marginalized populations in these areas.

Dr. Bingham also has notable experience in the field of research and leadership. He has participated in numerous studies dealing with various skin conditions and currently serves as a manuscript reviewer for the International Journal of Dermatology. Dr. Bingham also serves as the Secretary of Community Dermatology International, an organization dedicated to improving dermatologic care and education for populations in need.

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his two children Jacob and Maia and loves spending time outdoors. He enjoys road and mountain biking, running, hiking, backpacking, Ultimate Frisbee, snow sports and looks forward to taking up new beach sports. He is also fluent in Spanish and enjoys reading Spanish literature.
