C. Edward Clarke III, MD

Growing up in Borger, a small town in the Texas Panhandle, Dr. Clinton Clarke learned the importance of small town unity and trust. As a physician, he incorporates these values into his patient-provider relationships. Dr. Clarke states, “I greatly enjoy my time spent with patients, and try to create a comfortable environment for them while taking an evidence based approach in treating their conditions."

Dr. Clarke began his educational journey at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an Environmental emphasis. He then attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas where he completed his Doctor of Medicine degree. He later completed an internship and residency in Family Practice at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Clarke also completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

While serving as a sports medicine physician, Dr. Clarke’s colleagues regularly sent athletes with dermatologic conditions to him. With a growing interest in sports dermatology, Dr. Clarke participated in the Arizona state wrestling tournament skin checks and assisted in the skin screenings for the Arizona Diamondbacks during their physicals while serving as one of their team physicians. Dr. Clarke received the NCAA Research Award at the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine annual convention in 2006 in honor of his dedication and hard work in sports medicine and dermatology.

Dermatology is a field of medicine that Dr. Clarke not only finds fascinating, but satisfying as well. He comments, “I have always enjoyed the diagnosis of skin conditions, and I find it satisfying that so many conditions respond so well to treatment unlike in many other areas of medicine.”

Outside of work, Dr. Clarke enjoys staying active through running, hiking, mountain biking and sailing.
